Endless Key for USB drives is no longer developed
The latest experience is available only with the downloadable app for Windows and ChromeOS
The Endless Key is a 128 gigabyte USB drive that is designed to provide a robust, engaging and safe digital learning environment. You can access the content on this USB without the internet, by plugging it into a Windows computer.
This guide will get you started searching and discovering content on the Endless Key. The Key contains content ranging from well known institutions like Khan Academy and PBS Kids, to “Best of the Web” content curated by Endless.
The Endless Key Initiative is brought to you by the Endless OS Foundation in partnership with Common Sense and Learning Equality.
For previous releases, see:
The Endless Key works on Windows 7 and higher (7, 8.1, 10 and 11).
Note: the Terminal Two games can not be played on 32bit operating systems.
Explore the content on the Endless Key:
Use Search to find content you want to view. Search by keywords and fine-tune by adding and removing terms.
The Search view also contains the library where you can find all of the content on the Key.
The content on the key is organized in channels. Each channel covers a topic like Beauty, or displays content from a specific source like TED-Ed or Khan Academy.
The channel view features tools to browse, search and filter the content.
The top bar helps you navigate through the content structure.
Use the breadcrumb navigation to keep track of your location. The back button below works the same as the one in your Browser – going back one step.
You can use the close button at the top left to leave a channel and return to the Discovery view.
Each content type has different controls to interact with the content, here Ebooks.
You can always click on the dark background or on the “x” on the top right of the window to go back.
You can use the esc key or the unfullscreen button to leave fullscreen mode.
For audio, video and some of the games the control bar may appear at the bottom.
This has tools to seek in media files, change the playback speed and adjust the volume.
Please do not duplicate the Endless Key. It is manufactured using a special process and is not intended for duplication on a home computer. Trying to make copies will cause errors.
Do not delete any of the original files from the Endless Key. This may cause errors. However you can delete your own documents which you have created and saved to the Endless Key USB.
Make sure that you are running the Endless Launcher from the Endless Key USB, and that you have not copied it to your hard drive.
