Endless OS 5.0.1 was released on February 24th, 2023.
For full details on what’s new in Endless OS 5, check the Endless OS 5 release notes.

- In Google Chrome, downloading a document or spreadsheet and opening it in LibreOffice now works correctly. (In Endless OS 5.0.0, LibreOffice would not start up properly.)
- For new installations & new user accounts, the Hack icon is now shown on the desktop app grid, rather than on the dash.
- The Endless OS system font, Lato, is correctly displayed in newer applications.
- The tour shown when you first log in to Endless OS 5 now links to the Endless OS 5 release notes rather than to a blog post.
- The default monospaced font, used in the Terminal application, is now Adobe Source Code Pro.
- App updates should no longer fail with an error message like “Unable to download updates: Can't remove org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/3.34, it is needed for: org.laptop.TurtleArtActivity”.
- App updates will no longer incorrectly uninstall an app rather than updating it if its internal identifier has changed (such as Dialect which was renamed from
com.github.gi_lom.dialect
to app.drey.Dialect
).
