Endless OS 6.0.5 was released on 9th January 2025.
For full details on what’s new in Endless OS 6, see the Endless OS 6 release notes.
In Endless OS 6.0.4, the dialog displayed when you press Ctrl+Alt+Del was improved to force the application you select to quit immediately.
In Endless OS 6.0.5, the wording of this dialog has been improved to make clear that this is a last resort if the app is misbehaving, and that data will be lost.
The shim UEFI bootloader has been updated to the current release. The update contains several security fixes and improvements. At this time, the update is only being provided in new installations. In a future release, bootloader updates will be provided as part of the Endless OS update process.
eos-updater-ctl
improvementsThe eos-updater-ctl
command-line tool, which can be used to manually check for OS updates, has been improved to show clearer messages when no update is available, when an update has already been applied, and when an error occurs while checking for or downloading an update. (Previously in all these cases a confusing Python traceback would be shown.)
